About Barbara J. Ingram, Esq.

She served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, where she handled felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases, as well as prosecuted major sex crimes.

Barbara then entered private practice, where she handled all types of family law and criminal cases before returning to public service when she became the Program Attorney for the Child Support Division of the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court in Bradenton, Florida.

As a Program Attorney, she was responsible for providing child support services to IV-D applicants, and she was also responsible for all phases of trial work for the establishment and enforcement of paternity and child support. She created a procedure within the program which promoted more efficient rendering of orders, and prepared and assisted in the passage of child support legislation.

Barbara has the distinction of serving for 13 years as a Magistrate for the State of Florida, 12th Judicial Circuit, in Sarasota County, Florida. While on the bench, she presided over hundreds of family law cases, from temporary hearings to contested dissolutions, as well as child support enforcement and Baker Act proceedings. Because of this unique experience, Barbara is able to provide her clients with a singular insight into family law. Once again in the private sector, she focuses her practice on divorce, custody and visitation, child support, paternity, property division and mediation.

She is a member of the Sarasota Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Sarasota Bar, past chairman and co-chairman of the Family Law Section of the Sarasota Bar, and is a founder and past president of the Manatee County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
